'Friends' TV Show will Always be Special
When the series first aired in the 90s, I was a college student in India and did not have cable TV in my dormitory; the only TV, which was on the ground floor, televised only two local Indian channels.
Then, in an issue of Smash Hits I bought later, I noticed a Friends feature, and decided almost instantly that I wanted a ‘Rachel’ haircut.
I started watching the show a few years after it first came out and loved it right from the start when Rachel, dressed in her wedding dress, makes the mistake at Central Perk to seek refuge with her old friend Monica who “wasn’t invited to the wedding". I was interested in this show after this phrase. A lot of us have friends who we haven't seen for a long time; we haven't invinted them to special events in our lives, but they are still our friends anyway.
It is a special connections between people which is hard to explain. And, in my opinion, the best test of friendship is when you may not be there for the good times, but you will always be there for the bad. The special friendship of the main heroes Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Ross, Chandler and Joey gave me a time to think about friends which a lot of us have who may have different outlooks on life, different perspectives, traits — yet a connection develops and endures.
All the main heroes has his own whims and individual personalities but their love and respect for each other transcends everything else
So we can relate to the best, funny, poignant, sweet and memorable times just like Friends characters.
So we love this show for a friendship, and to that brilliant actors — Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston and Matthew Perry — who have so often brought a smile to our faces and lifted our spirits.
The show is coming back on 27 May
