OREANDA-NEWS The box office of the film "The Challenge" reached 1 billion rubles in Russia. This is evidenced by the data of the EAIS.
The world's first feature film, part of the filming of which took place in space, was released in wide release on April 20. Thus, the picture of Klim Shipenko overcame the figure of 1 billion rubles in 13 days.
Cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov, director Klim Shipenko and actress Yulia Peresild, who played the main role, went to the ISS in October 2021 to shoot the film. They spent 12 days in orbit. According to the plot, the surgeon's wife has to prepare for a space flight in a month to go to the ISS and save a sick cosmonaut.
The previous Russian "billionaire" was Dmitry Dyachenko's "Cheburashka", which collected a record 6,777 billion rubles. It is noteworthy that "The Challenge" is already the second film in Shipenko's career, which earned more than 1 billion — before that, 3 billion rubles were collected by his picture "Serf".
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin called the shooting of the film "Challenge" in space "a real, human act."
