OREANDA-NEWS. The funds of Russian museums were increased by 1 million exhibits in 2020. This was announced by the Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova in a congratulatory message to the International Museum Day, published on Tuesday on the department's website.
"Over the past year, the Museum Fund has increased by almost a million exhibits. Such unprecedented success was achieved thanks to the enthusiasm and concern of the museum staff, " she said. "The daily painstaking work of tour guides, restorers, artists, historians, methodologists, and researchers allows people to touch the past, get acquainted with the rich cultural heritage of our country, as well as get acquainted with the trends of modern art and the achievements of science and technology."
The Minister stressed that Russian museums are modern historical, artistic, cultural and educational complexes and firmly occupy a leading position in the world, annually attracting the attention of millions of visitors.
She drew attention to the fact that last year, due to the closure of the pandemic, institutions had to make an unconditional technological breakthrough. "The forced transition to the virtual space helped to find new forms of work. All institutions withstood the pandemic with dignity, actively participated in the development and development of digital projects," Lyubimova said.
