OREANDA-NEWS  The United Arab Emirates (UAE) became the most popular country among Russian tourists in January 2024. Such data was called by experts of the MTS Travel hotel booking service.

It is clarified that the UAE has become the leader among other non-CIS countries in popularity among Russians with an indicator of 17.5 percent. Thailand is in second place — 15 percent of the total number of Russian tourists traveling abroad went there. Turkey took the third place (14 percent).

Egypt and China were in the fourth and fifth positions with figures of 10 and 8 percent, respectively.

Earlier it was reported that Russian tourists flocked to the Maldives en masse in 2023, the tourist flow of compatriots to the favorite resort of the rich increased by 3.6 percent compared to 2022. It is clarified that for Russians, holidays in the Maldives cease to be seasonal.
