OREANDA-NEWS. New York State authorities have declared December 18 the day of the recently deceased rapper DMX. The record of the Senate meeting was published by the HipHopDX portal on the social network Twitter.

December 18 is the musician's birthday, and now the date is called «Earl DMX Simmons Day». The announcement was made yesterday, April 25, at a memorial service dedicated to the musician.

Recall, that the musician and actor Earl Simmons, known as DMX, died at the age of 50 after a week on life support. This was reported to the press by the musician's relatives. A week before his death, DMX was hospitalized with a heart attack. On April 7, manager Steve Rifkind announced, that the artist is still in a coma on life support and is awaiting a brain function test. According to TMZ sources, the reason for Simmon's sharp deterioration in health was drugs. It is reported, that the overdose occurred at the rapper's home and provoked a heart attack. Then the musician was transferred to the intensive care unit.

A source told the portal that Simmons was in a «vegetative state», and doctors warned about the possibility of a fatal outcome. The publication claimed, that the performer had been struggling with substance abuse for several years and had been rehabilitated several times. The musician's lawyer, Murray Richman, did not confirm the information about the banned substances, saying that he «does not know anything about it». He said, that Simmons was accompanied by his wife and some of his children.
