OREANDA-NEWS. Actor and director Danila Kozlovsky reported on Instagram that his film "Chernobyl", dedicated to the tragedy at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant (which took place on April 26, 1986), was released on the streaming service Netflix.
"Starting today, the film" Chernobyl "on Netflix. Honestly, we knew about this even in winter, long before the release. But only today our overseas partners allowed us to report this news," Kozlovsky wrote.
The actor added that his film, which was released in Russia in mid-April this year, became one of the best-selling in the history of Russian cinema.
According to him, the film should be released in Japan, the USA, South Korea, a number of European and Baltic countries, China, some Latin American countries and many others. And this, as noted by Kozlovsky, is not all the deals, but only those that have already been concluded.
"The interest in the film is huge," the director emphasized.
The drama "Chernobyl" tells the story of a young firefighter from Pripyat, Alexei Karpushin, who wants to start a new life in another city with his girlfriend Olya (Oksana Akinshina) and her son Lesha (Petr Tereshchenko). However, the explosion of the fourth reactor threatens Karpushin's dream. The main character becomes one of the liquidators of the accident and helps prevent another explosion.
Kozlovsky's film is far from the first Russian project to be featured in one of the largest online cinemas. In addition to "Chernobyl" on Netflix, you can also watch the series "Epidemic", "Method" and "Major", the sports drama "Moving Up", the movie "Once Upon a Time in Trubchevsk" and much more.
