Variety notes that the ceremony is postponed for the first time since the terrorist attacks in the United States in 2001. The decision was made against the background of a strike by the screenwriters' and actors' guilds of the USA, who are fighting for better working conditions.

As a result of the postponement, the Emmy Awards will be held in the winter awards season along with the Golden Globe and the Critics' Choice Movie Awards. Variety reports that the Emmys will be awarded to works for the period from June 1, 2022 to May 31, 2023, and other awards will take into account the period from January 1 to December 31, 2023. Thus, awards can be awarded to different seasons of the same series.

As reported, the leader in the number of nominations for the Emmy Award was the series "Heirs": it is presented in 27 categories. It is followed by "One of Us" (24 nominations), "White Lotus" (23 nominations) and "Ted Lasso" (21 nominations).
