OREANDA-NEWS During a working meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Russian Culture Minister Olga Lyubimova said that the audience of domestic films in cinemas has doubled since 2020. This is reported on the official website of the Kremlin's press service.

"In 2020, 42.5 million viewers went to Russian cinema, and now, in 2023, 87 million," Lyubimova said on Monday, October 9, adding that this is an important indicator. The head of the Ministry of Culture also stressed that fears about the closure of Russian cinemas were not justified.

During the same meeting with the President of Russia, Lyubimova discussed with the head of state the development of cultural infrastructure in new regions of the Russian Federation. She added that in the future new cultural centers will be created in existing libraries and museums.
