OREANDA-NEWS More than half of Russians (52%) love to kiss, another 38% do not like to do this, sociologists of the All-Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion (VTsIOM) have found out.

According to the survey, 49% of respondents often and very often when meeting their relatives and friends, 42% rarely or very rarely, 7% never. As noted, among the most frequent forms of greeting are words (56%), hugs (55%), handshake (50%) and a smile (41%).

Friendly welcome kisses between men called acceptable only 11% of citizens. 86% consider it inappropriate. At the same time, as stated by 60% of the respondents, kissing women at a meeting is normal. 35% adhere to the opposite opinion.

60% of Russians consider it appropriate to kiss between a man and a woman as a greeting, 34% disagree with this point of view.

July 4th is World Kiss Day.

The survey was conducted on July 2. It was attended by Russians aged 18 years. Method - telephone interview by stratified dibasic random sample of landline and mobile numbers of 1.6 thousand respondents.
