Russian Singer Manizha Promised to Be Crazier in the Eurovision Final
OREANDA-NEWS. Singer Manizha (Manizha Sangin), representing Russia at Eurovision-2021, promised that in the final of the song contest she would be "a little more crazy." She spoke about this during a press conference following the semifinals, a video of which was published on the Wiwibloggs YouTube channel.
The singer admitted that she was pleased with her performance in the semifinals: “Tonight I was completely myself. I laughed, we were so happy to be on this stage. In the final, I'll be a little crazier than I am now, but I'll be myself. It helps your success. It doesn't matter what place you take. Just be yourself".
During the press conference, the performer noted that she was predicted to fail with a song in Russian. After reaching the finals and proving the opposite, she called for more singing in her native language. Manizha stressed during a press conference that "Russian is beautiful."
The representative of Russia performed in the semifinals dressed in a huge dress in the Russian style with colorful folk patterns from patches that were sent from different parts of the country. At some point, the dress "opened up" and Manizha "came out" of this outfit in a red jumpsuit. As the singer later explained, this is "a symbol for every Russian woman who needs to be free, go out and do something for herself."
The first semi-final of Eurovision was held on the evening of May 18th. Manizha with the song Russian Woman performed in the first semifinal at number three.
