Russian Producer Prigozhin Offers to Create an Analogue of «Eurovision»
OREANDA-NEWS. Music producer Iosif Prigozhin criticized the Eurovision Song Contest in an interview with RIA FAN. He called it the event for rednecks from Europe and offered to create his own alternative: to hold a song contest in Russia and invite foreigners. Prigozhin added, that it is not necessary to discuss «Eurovision», like it is a Grammy. The producer recalled that the brightest performers of this song contest were Abba and Celine Dion.
Meanwhile, pop singer Philip Kirkorov has already started preparing for the «Eurovision». Now the singer is producing a song and a performer who, in his opinion, could represent Russia. This time, he will present an international project involving a producer from Greece Dimitris Kontopoulos, a singer from Moldova Natasha Gordienko and a Russian poet Mikhail Gutseriev.
This year's Eurovision Song Contest will be held from 18 to 21 May in Rotterdam. In the Russian media, there has already been an assumption that the Little Big group will still go to the competition. Meanwhile, there is no official confirmation of this yet. The musicians themselves did not make any statements about participation in the competition.
On the eve of the Eurovision Song Contest commentator Graham Norton said that the contest will be held in an offline format. There are no plans to cancel the festival or move it online due to the coronavirus.
