OREANDA-NEWS The foreign tourist flow to Turkey in January-July increased by 16% compared to the same period last year, Russia took the first place with the result of 3.5 million tourists, according to the data of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the republic.

According to statistics, the tourist flow from Russia in January-July increased by 59.2% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 3.5 million. Germany is in second place, where 3.2 million travelers came from (plus 7.3%). The UK closes the top three with 2.6 million tourists (plus 14%). Bulgaria and Iran also entered the top 5.

In July, a record number of travelers visited Turkey - 7.1 million, which is 7.3% more than a year earlier.

In the ranking of countries by the number of arrivals in July, Germany leads, from where 941.6 thousand tourists came (minus 2%). Russia took second place with 884.6 thousand (plus 19.3%). The UK is in third place with 574.4 thousand (plus 5.2%). They are followed by Poland and Bulgaria.

According to the ministry, more than 30 million guests visited Turkey in seven months, of which 26.8 million were foreign travelers, and 3.3 million were Turkish citizens living abroad.
