OREANDA-NEWS Russia and Uzbekistan have signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of joint film production, Russian Culture Minister Olga Lyubimova said.

"One of the main directions of our work is cinema. An important event was the signing of an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the field of joint film production. We are actively preparing to participate in the XVI International Film Festival "Pearl of the Silk Road"," Lyubimova wrote in her telegram channel.

She noted that the key Russian initiative in the field of cinema is the creation of the Eurasian Academy of Cinematographic Arts and the Open Eurasian Film Award. "We very much count on the support of our colleagues from Uzbekistan," the minister added.

Lyubimova also said that the Days of Culture of Uzbekistan will be held in Russia soon.
