OREANDA-NEWS  Russian Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova said that work is underway on a joint project with China – the film "Red Silk".

At the initiative of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping, the years 2024-2025 have been declared the cross-cultural years of Russia and China.

"Separately, for example, I can't help but mention the cinema. I will say two words that we are very proud that on March 15 our space drama "The Challenge" by Klim Shipenko appeared on the big screen of the Celestial Empire. And now a new project "Red Silk" is being prepared. We are already discussing with our colleagues the possibility of its creation," the minister said during the Russia-China session on the sidelines of the SPIEF.

According to the plot, the action takes place in 1927. Secret documents that will determine the future of the USSR and China are being transported across Russia. Under the guise of ordinary passengers, foreign intelligence agents are hiding, ready to do anything to get this information. A young Red Army soldier and a former tsarist agent have to unite to uncover a common enemy.

The roles in the film will be performed by Russian and Chinese actors, among them Milos Bikovich, Gleb Kalyuzhny, Elena Podkaminskaya, Gosha Kutsenko, Zheng Hanyi, Huang Haonan and others. The director of the project is Andrey Volgin.

The SPIEF takes place from 5 to 8 June. RIA Novosti is an information partner of the forum.
