OREANDA-NEWS. The song «My White City — Ashgabat», written by the head of the country Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, was presented in the capital of Turkmenistan. The music for the track was composed by his grandson Kerim.

The premiere took place during the ceremony of awarding one of the grooms with a badge for the honorary title «People's Horse Breeder of Turkmenistan», reports local media «Turkmenportal». Berdymukhamedov explained, that he wrote the poem, that formed the basis of the song, inspired by the birth of a foal named «Ashgabat» from the legendary Turkmen horse «Akhan».

This is not the first creative experience of the head of the republic. In 2015, he wrote the poem «Forward! Only forward, the native land — Turkmenistan!». In 2017, he composed the song «I Remember» and in 2018, he composed the lyrics of the song «Sports Turkmenistan».

Berdimuhamedov has been President since February 2007. The 63-year-old politician won the election with a score of 89.23% and became the second president of Turkmenistan.
