OREANDA-NEWS. Movie star Will Smith spoke about his political ambitions. The famouse actor on the «Pod Save America podcast» suggested, that he might be running for president.

In a recording of the conversation published on the website «Crooked Media», Will Smith noted, that he believes in people and that there can be understanding and harmony between them in the political arena. He admitted, that he might be running for some political office.

Will Smith also said, that he always wanted to contribute to the political life of the country, regardless of whether he would continue to pursue acting or not. Probably, the actor will fight for the post of president with rap artist Kanye West and Meghan Markle, a former American actress and fashion model, who previously announced their plans to run for election.

The next US presidential election is scheduled for November 5, 2024. This will be the 60th presidential election in the history of the country, in which the 47th president of the United States can be elected (in case Joe Biden loses the election or does not participate in it). According to the Second Article of the US Constitution, to be elected president, a candidate must be a US citizen by birth, must be at least 35 years old and have lived in the country for at least 14 years.
