"During the first day of operation, the museum and temple complex "New Chersonesos" was visited by more than 20 thousand people. Among the first guests of the complex were not only residents of Sevastopol and Crimea, but also tourists from various parts of Russia," the message says.
Novy Chersonesos recalled that the center is operating in a test mode, which allows you to identify and correct all the shortcomings. The complex asked tourists to express their comments and suggestions in feedback forms.
The New Chersonesos Museum complex, which includes three museums dedicated to Christianity, antiquity and Byzantium, as well as Crimea and Novorossiya, parks and fountains, the Geroon River with embankments and lakes, the reconstructed quarter of ancient Chersonesos was built next to the historical Chersonesos in less than two years. The complex is designed for simultaneous visits of 50 thousand people, but for now it will work in test mode.
On July twenty-eighth, a solemn ceremony of consecration of the complex took place, on this day a large procession was held, St. Vladimir's Cathedral was opened after restoration. On the same day, a new monument to the baptist of Russia, Prince Vladimir, was unveiled.
