OREANDA-NEWS The Maltese authorities have allowed vaccinated travelers to enter the country, including from Russia. Details of the decision are posted on the official tourist portal of the republic.
It was noted that the popular beach state has updated the list of countries whose citizens can come to the country for tourist purposes, provided that they are fully vaccinated. However, the vaccination must be made with one of the drugs approved by the European Medicines Agency.
Among them are AstraZeneca, Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson — Russian vaccines have not yet been included in the list. Entry to the territory of Malta with a negative PCR test is possible only for non-tourist purposes, and a special permit is required.
Earlier in July, the Maltese authorities changed their mind about closing entry to the country for unvaccinated tourists due to criticism of the European Commission and accusations of discrimination. According to the new rules, persons without a vaccination certificate arriving from EU countries, as well as Australia, Andorra, the Vatican, Israel, Canada, China, Monaco, New Zealand, San Marino and Singapore are required to go to quarantine at their own expense.
