Lyubimova: Municipal Libraries, Theaters and Museums will Receive 20 Billion Rubles for Reconstruction
OREANDA-NEWS. The Russian government will allocate 20 billion rubles for the construction and reconstruction of rural cultural institutions, model libraries, children's theaters and local history museums in the period from 2022 to 2024. This was announced on Tuesday by the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Olga Lyubimova.
"In the period from 2022 to 2024, we plan to lay 20 billion rubles for the construction, reconstruction and overhaul of rural cultural institutions, the creation, modernization and acquisition of funds of model municipal libraries, the reconstruction of young spectator theaters and puppet theaters, and, finally, the long-awaited work on the reconstruction, repair and equipment of municipal museums of local lore," the minister said at a meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin with the government of the Russian Federation and the leadership of United Russia.
Lyubimova added that almost 2 billion rubles have already been allocated for these purposes this year. The Minister stressed that modern infrastructure will be formed in remote parts of the country - in small towns and villages. "We expect to create 154 new-generation libraries in 60 regions in 2021 and purchase at least 1 million new books, < ... > and also support children's theaters in 62 regions of the Russian Federation, "she reported, adding that the work in terms of supporting children's theaters and local history museums is being carried out jointly with the United Russia faction.
