OREANDA-NEWS. South Korean boy band BTS is the main winner of the 2020 MTV European Music Awards. This was announced on November 9 by the press service of the award.

The group received awards in four categories: best song for Dynamite, best group, best online concert and biggest fans.

In addition, Coldplay was named the best rock group, Lady Gaga was recognized as the best artist, Hayley Williams received the best alternative artist award, French DJ David Guetta won the best electronic nomination, Cardi B earned best hip-hop award.

The MTV European Music Awards ceremony of 2020 took place online due to the coronavirus pandemic. Next year, the event is scheduled to be held in Hungary.

The annual award was established by the music television channel MTV Europe in 1994. Winners of the European Music Awards are determined by online voting.
