The series is produced and developed by Xavier Marchand and Anand Tucker. The executive producer and writer will be James Dormer, the other executive producer is Johanna Deveraux, the head of the Disney+ original series department who this time will personally oversee the creation of content for the service.
"The story of Jules Verne is a world-favorite classic", Devereaux said. It's a huge privilege to bring "Nautilus" and its team back to life in such a bold, exciting way, with a diverse team of creative talent and on-screen characters. The series will be exciting, rich and fun".
This is not the first attempt at a film adaptation of Jules Verne by Disney - in 1954, Disney was already shooting a film based on the novel. Richard Fleischer was the director and starred James Mason and Kirk Douglas.
