OREANDA-NEWS. The total budget of the series “The Lord of the Rings”, which is led by Amazon, will be about $ 1.5 billion.  

Earlier in Amazon Studios, they announced that they plan to fit the screen version of the fantasy novel John Tolkien in five seasons. It was noted that the first season will be devoted to the adventures of the young Aragorn. 

Amazon Studios acquired the rights to the screen version of "The Lord of the Rings" in 2017 for $ 250 million, beating at Netflix auction. Amazon hopes that the project will be no less popular than the cult TV series Game of Thrones, and will attract new viewers to the streaming service.
