The role of the main antagonist of the heroine, Ursula, is considered the actress Melissa McCarthy.

The news that Ariel in the remake of the cartoon will play a black actress Holly Bailey, criticized some viewers. Casal pointed out that the Little Mermaid is a fabulous character who does not have a national identity, and therefore can have any skin tone.
