OREANDA-NEWS In the United States canceled the jubilee, 50th in a row, the festival of rock music "Woodstock". This was announced on August 1 by Variety magazine.

It was supposed to be held from August 16 to August 18, 2019, however, on the morning of July 31, all interested parties received a message about its cancellation.

It became known that the headliner of the festival, singer Miley Cyrus, refused to participate, joining such performers as Raconteurs, Lumineers, as well as John Sebastian, Country Joe MacDonald and Carlos Santana, who participated in the very first Woodstock. Even before that, Jay-Z, Dead & Company and John Fogerty had announced their refusal to participate.

Woodstock 2019 Director Greg Peck said that the reason for the cancellation of the 50th festival was a litigation between its organizers and a financial partner. This disrupted their plans, forcing them to seek an alternative venue. As a result, they simply did not have enough time, despite the fact that the celebrated "Woodstock" after that decided to support eminent artists.
