HRC Head Commented on Complaints about Nude Sculptures in the Hermitage
OREANDA-NEWS. Complaints like the one received by the State Hermitage about the negative impact of nude sculptures on underage visitors should be forwarded to a psychiatrist, says Valery Fadeev, head of the Human Rights Council under the President of the Russian Federation (HRC).
The head of the HRC is on a visit to Yekaterinburg on April 8-9. On Thursday he gave a lecture at the Ural Federal University. Currently, the head of the HRC speaks at an event in the park "Russia is my history". On Friday, Fadeev will take part in a meeting on additional measures to ensure the legal rights of journalists, which will be held at the embassy.
"Such complaints should be immediately forwarded to a psychiatrist," Fadeev said during an event in the Russia - My Story park, in response to a request to comment on the situation with the complaint received by the Hermitage.
Earlier, the director of the State Hermitage Museum Mikhail Piotrovsky said that the museum had received an official complaint about the negative impact of nude sculptures on underage visitors.
"We have a very large interactivity - they write to us a lot, they complain about us a lot and sometimes very aggressively. But there are important proposals and requirements that must be borne in mind for the future. Once I laughed when we were told: collect all your nude sculptures ... in one room and hang a sign "18+" so that our children do not corrupt. (But) this is already an official complaint that came to us from the official bodies, and we are responding to it, "he told reporters.
