Former Disney CEO May Join Biden's Team
OREANDA-NEWS. US President-elect Joe Biden plans to leverage the connections made by The Walt Disney Company Chairman Bob Iger over the years of Disney's presence in China. According to the sources of The Hollywood Reporter, the new head of the United States may appoint one of the most successful media moguls of our time as an ambassador to the PRC. The possibility of nominating Iger for the post of head of the diplomatic mission in Great Britain is also being considered.
The media reported that the ex-head of Disney became one of the main sponsors of the Democrat's election campaign. He donated $ 250,000 to the Biden Victory Fund.
Representatives for the president and Disney declined to comment on the news. If Iger accepts the offer, he will thus end his 25-year career at Disney. In late February, he surprised everyone by announcing his resignation as CEO of the corporation.
Bob Iger took over as CEO of The Walt Disney Company in 2005 and is heading into new markets and expanding the company's business interests. Iger's main achievements include a large-scale increase in the corporation's presence in the film business, the launch of the Disney + streaming platform, and the active development of theme entertainment parks. He was succeeded as CEO of the company by Bob Chapek, who was previously responsible for the development of amusement parks and Disney products.
