OREANDA-NEWS More than 4.7 million tourists visited Crimea in ten months of 2023, and the tourist flow is expected to grow to 5 million by the end of the year, Vadim Volchenko, Minister of Resorts and Tourism of the region, told reporters.
"If we are talking about reservations, we already have about 20-25% for most hotels operating on New Year's holidays offering New Year's programs," he added.
According to him, this is a normal indicator, since the average booking rate in the country is 30-35%, and the closure of air traffic and logistical restrictions have led to a tendency to reduce the number of bookings in 2022 and 2023.
"We understand that during the period of sanctions restrictions, it is difficult to predict logistics for a long period of time, but I am sure that this year has shown good economic indicators," Volchenko added.
According to the minister, the tourism sector of Crimea is able to receive more than 9.5 million per year, as it was in 2021. The republic is actively building new hotels, including modular ones, reconstruction and innovation of existing accommodation facilities.
