OREANDA-NEWS Composer Alexander Zatsepin became the winner of the honorary award for "Honor and Dignity" of the National Award of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences "Nika". The awards ceremony takes place on Monday evening.

Zatsepin turned 99 this year. He noted that "of course, it is very nice to receive the award." "I'm optimistic, I'm working hard right now. I've done four musicals, and now I have to do a ballet. My head is working, my memory is there, my eyes and ears are there, and my legs are walking. Well, what else do you need? Well, you need to do exercises in the morning, definitely," said the composer.

Zatsepin is a People's Artist of the Russian Federation. He gained national fame as the author of music for many famous films, including almost all films by Leonid Gaidai.

Vladimir Malyshev, Rector of the All-Russian State University of Cinematography named after S.A.Gerasimov, who has been heading the university since 2007, was awarded a special award for his contribution to cinematographic sciences, criticism and education.

The winners in other categories were also announced at the ceremony.

The best non-fiction film was the work "Lexo" directed by Olesya Fokina about the pianist Alexander Toradze.

The best animated film was the picture "Luntik. Homecoming" directed by Konstantin Bronzit.

The "discovery of the Year" was the film directed by Zak Abdrakhmanov, "Dad Died on Saturday."

In the nomination "Best Film Music", composer Alexey Rybnikov was awarded for the film "9 Seconds".

The National Cinematography Award "Nika" was established in 1987 by the Secretariat of the USSR Union of Cinematographers. Since the early 1990s, the winners have been determined by secret ballot of members of the Academy of Cinematographic Arts, which includes representatives of all cinematographic specialties. The winners of the award in each nomination are awarded statuettes of the winged ancient Greek goddess Nika.
