OREANDA-NEWS. American singer Billy Elish received a Grammy in five of six categories - Song of the Year, Best New Artist, Record of the Year, Album of the Year and Best Vocal Pop Album. The 62nd annual Grammy Awards ceremony was held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

The artist managed to win awards in all the most prestigious nominations, informally called The Big Four, which includes Song of the Year, Best New Artist, Album of the Year and Record of the Year.

In the fight for the “Song of the Year” award, Billy Elish with Bad Guy beat Lady Gaga with the song Always Remember Us This Way, country singer Tanya Tucker with the song Bring My Flowers Now, hip-hop singer H.E.R. with the song Hard Place and Taylor Swift nominated for the track Lover. In addition, Lana Del Rey with the song Norman Fucking Rockwell, Scottish musician Lewis Capaldi with the song Someone You Loved and Melissa Jefferson, known under the pseudonym Lizzo, performed the song Truth Hurts.

Ailish missed the victory only in the nomination "Best Pop Solo Performance", where Lizzo was the winner. Beyoncé, Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift also fought for the award in this category.
