OREANDA-NEWS An ancient recipe for chocolate with meat has been restored and made public in the state archive located in the Vologda region. This is stated on the Rodina portal.

It is claimed that in the XIX century, an unusual sweetness "had its admirers." In 1876, a local resident Pelageya Mordvinova began cooking meat-barley chocolate for sale. Her cover letter was found in the state archive. In it, the woman wrote that "chocolate in its component parts is nutritious and healthy food for any age."

Mordvinova produced three types of chocolate: meat-extract, malts-extract (with barley malt and malts extract) and barley chocolate (with ground barley). The latter was also sold in powder, it was advised to drink it instead of tea.

The author of the unusual recipe suggested taking chocolate bars with you on trips and to work in the field. In her opinion, such chocolate gave more strength to the whole body.

Earlier, Samara pastry chef Galina Mikvelman baked a huge cake in the form of a Russian flag and broke the record. The area of the confectionery was 24 square meters, and the weight was 1600 kilograms. A whole team from 30 regions of the country worked on its creation. It is claimed that biscuits with buttercream and berry filling became the basis of the flag.
