Altai Region Received the National Geographic Traveler Award
OREANDA-NEWS Altai region received the National Geographic Traveler Awards 2018 in the category "Russian recreation", ahead of the number of votes of Krasnodar, Stavropol and Khabarovsk territories, as well as the Republic of Bashkortostan, the press service of the regional government.
National Geographic Traveler noted the therapeutic properties of lake Spring and the resort town of Federal importance Belokurikha, in which "you can improve your health with mineral waters, sunbathing (260 Sunny days a year) and hippotherapy — horseback riding", the report said.
This year the prize consisted of 25 main categories. From June 22 to October 12, 2018, an online voting was held, where readers of the publication chose the best tourist destinations in Russia: various holidays – adventure, ethnic, excursion, environmental, ski, health, as well as gastronomic tourism, the best resort hotel and the best airline.
Altai Krai has been regularly participating in the voting of National Geographic Traveler Awards since 2015. In 2016, the region won in the nomination "the Russian adventure holidays" in 2017 won an award in the nomination "the Russian adventure holidays", noted in the Altaitourcenter.
Award National Geographic Traveler Awards 2018 in Moscow received the Altaitourcenter specialists and specialized management of the regional government, responsible for the creation of favorable conditions for tourism development in the Altai region.
In addition, according to the magazine "National Geographic Traveler" Uzbekistan won the nomination "Gastronomic tourism" competition "National Geographic Traveler Awards 2018". Uzbekistan has become the most popular destination for Russian tourists for the future New Year holidays.
Kaliningrad region received the national Geographic Traveler Awards 2018. The region won the nomination "the Best Ecological Rest".
It should be noted that in 2017 the Kaliningrad region took the fifth place in the nomination "Russian recreation" of the national Geographic award. The top also includes Altai Krai, Krasnodar Krai, Altai Republic and Stavropol Krai.
