OREANDA-NEWS. Advisor to the head of Zelensky's office, Mikhail Podolyak, said that the murder of Denis Kireev was not related to the work of the Ukrainian delegation, RIA Novosti reports, citing an interview with the politician to Russian journalist Yulia Latynina on her YouTube channel.

Podolyak explained that Kireev was a consultant on a number of issues concerning the mood of the Russian Federation, but he was not a member of the delegation.

“Accordingly, the shootout ... has nothing to do with the work of the delegation. It was outside the negotiation process, it was in Kyiv, and there is some kind of conflict there... I would share it,” Mikhail Podolyak said.

He also added that the members of the delegation itself are all “in place” and continue to work, and investigative actions will be carried out regarding the murder of Kireev and the dissemination of information about this incident.

Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine confirmed the death of Denis Kireev, who was present at the negotiations between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations.

Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Alexander Dubinsky said that Kireeva killed the SBU during the arrest, but there is no confirmation of this information.
