OREANDA-NEWS The Association of Professional Users of Social Networks and Messengers proposed the Ministry of Digital and the Ministry of Culture to force foreign video services, including YouTube, to explain the reasons for blocking or deleting a particular video. This was reported by "Kommersant" with reference to the letter of the organization. The authors called fraud with YouTube rights the reason for such an initiative.

Companies often identify themselves as copyright holders of musical works and earn money from watching videos. And they can also complain about the videos, which leads to their blocking. Such a ban is difficult or impossible to challenge, because the contacts of licensees are hidden, the association claims. The authors of the letter also suggested publishing the contacts of the license holders.

Market participants considered the requirements unnecessary. For example, the head of the music department of "Mediacube" (YouTube partner) Dmitry Bezkorovayny said that cases of illegal claims of rights to music on the platform are observed "sporadically".
