OREANDA-NEWS. Microsoft Corporation announced that it has achieved its goals regarding operating system Windows 10, which is now installed on more than 1 billion computers worldwide.

Only active users were taken into account, the total number of countries in which they use the system exceeded 200. According to research company Netmarketshare, Windows 10 is currently installed on more than 50.3 % of all computers in the world.

Initially, the plan was to reach 1 billion Windows 10 users in three years after the system was released, but later Microsoft extended the transition period due to the failure of the operating system Windows Phone. The figure of 1 billion was achieved five years after the release of Windows 10 and less than six months after gaining the mark of 900 million users.
