According to the agency, the perpetrator of the targeted hacker attack most likely comes from Russia. He is responsible for the vast majority or all of the cyberattacks recently identified against government and non-government networks.
According to RIA Novosti, the US intelligence services continue to investigate the incident. All necessary steps are taken to assess the full scope of the action and the appropriate response. This is stated in a statement following the results of the work carried out by the National Security Agency, the FBI, the National Intelligence Agency and the CISA.
In December, it became known of a cyberattack carried out on customers of the computer security firm SolarWinds. Numerous US government agencies were among the victims. According to intelligence agencies, this cyberattack could be one of the largest in terms of damage and scale of hacker attacks on the public sector of the United States.
Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov stressed that Moscow had nothing to do with it. According to Peskov, Russia has repeatedly offered the United States to resume dialogue on the topic of cybersecurity, but was refused.
