The Russian Foreign Ministry Called the Celebration of the Constitution Day of Ukraine Controversial
OREANDA-NEWS. The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova wished the Constitution of Ukraine not to repeat the fate of the "Declaration" of the Gulyaypole Republic, commenting on the recent celebration of the 25th anniversary of the basic law.
Constitution Day is celebrated in Ukraine on June 28.
"Recently Kiev solemnly celebrated the 25th anniversary of its fundamental law - the Constitution of Ukraine. Total legal degeneration, a humanitarian catastrophe in the east of the country, rampant neo-Nazi sentiments, the Maidan experience of coups d'état - all this was not provided for in the Constitution of Ukraine. But it just so happened that it happened. .. In general, the holiday came out some kind of ambiguous ... I would like to once again wish the rejuvenated constitution strength and strength, since she already has youth and wisdom, and also not to repeat the fate of the "Declaration" of the Gulyaypole Republic, ”Zakharova wrote in Telegram- channel.
She also added that Ukrainian constitutionalists forget about international obligations - "for example, to follow the Minsk set of measures, confirmed by the decision of the UN Security Council, which means - mandatory for execution."
Zakharova noted that the Constitution of Ukraine has been regularly amended for 25 years. "As is typical of classical anocracy (or" weak democracy ", if you will) with a tendency to oligarchic concentration of power, the Ukrainian constitution was changed regularly - it was rewritten under the ruling brigades. The basic law was repeatedly amended in 2000, 2004, 2010, 2014, 2015 and 2019 ", - added Zakharova.
According to her, international creditors - the United States, the IMF and others - "everyone is demanding, demanding, demanding reforms, demanding concessions, demanding changes in laws," and in response, Ukraine "asks, asks and asks: money, gas, punish Russia, and then all over again".
