The President of the Russian Federation Discussed the Fight against Cybercrime with the Security Council
OREANDA-NEWS. According to the press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov, the main topic of the meeting held on Friday by Russian President Vladimir Putin with permanent members of the Security Council of the Russian Federation was to increase the effectiveness of combating crimes in cyberspace.
The meeting was attended by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Deputy Chairman of the RF Security Council Dmitry Medvedev, Head of the Kremlin Administration Anton Vaino, Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, FSB and SVR directors Alexander Bortnikov and Sergei Naryshkin, and Sergei Ivanov, special presidential envoy for environmental protection, ecology and transport.
As the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said at a briefing on Friday, Canadian departments, calling Russia a source of threats in cyberspace, are inventing a parallel reality to increase their own funding.
She stated that Canadian experts do not turn to their Russian colleagues in order to clarify their concerns, but issue reports and raise a buzz in the press, trying to squeeze out additional funding to combat the allegedly existing Russian threat.
