OREANDA-NEWS. The European Union called on the Russian authorities to investigate cases of alleged sale of European COVID certificates on Russian-language sites on the darknet, the RBC news agency wrote on Tuesday, November 2. The Russian representative office of the European Union, in response to a request from the media, stated that they take reports of possible cases of fraud very seriously, and recalled the prohibition of falsification of documents, including Russian QR codes and European digital vaccination certificates.
«The European Union will continue to closely monitor this issue, and appropriate measures will be taken if necessary. If there are suspicions of fraud, the EU expects that the countries in which this occurs, including Russia, will take measures to investigate these suspicions and respond to them», the diplomatic mission said.
Earlier, RBC with reference to the Russian IT company Kaspersky Lab, announced the sale of European vaccination certificates in the shadow segment of the Internet.
