He added that with their unfounded allegations, the United States only discredits the country in the international arena.

The statement of the representative of the Foreign Ministry of China is a response to the reports of the American media, which claim that before the start of the special operation to demilitarize Ukraine, Russia turned to China for help. The Financial Times and the Washington Post published such articles, citing unnamed US officials.

The day before, Liu Penyu, spokesman for the Chinese Embassy in the United States, also denied rumors that Russia was turning to China for military and economic support.

A similar statement was made by the press secretary of the President of the Kremlin, Dmitry Peskov, who stressed that Russia has an independent potential to continue and complete the operation "on time and in full."
