OREANDA-NEWS  Roskomnadzor has connected the Prosecutor General's Office for inspections of regional telecom operators. According to Kommersant, in this way the agency decided to strengthen control over the blocking of banned websites, social networks and mass media in Russia.

According to the newspaper, in May, Roskomnadzor sent a warning to regional telecom operators about unscheduled inspections. The documents, in particular, say that the agency, together with the Prosecutor General's Office, will check the provision of blocking of prohibited sites and social networks, as well as the installation of technical means to counter threats (TSPU) and the operation of the hardware agent of the AS "Auditor" — a complex for monitoring access to prohibited resources.

Roskomnadzor explains the strengthening of control over blocking by the fact that recently the number of computer attacks on the Russian information structure has increased several times. "In this regard, it is necessary for operators to unconditionally fulfill the requirements imposed on their work," the ministry stressed.
