OREANDA-NEWS. Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said during a press conference that today Russophobia has become mainstream in Europe, and this is the reality in which one has to function, TASS reports.
The politician also added that what used to be considered the need to reduce prices by searching for cheap energy resources in Russia, today is a payment for "the military machine of [Russian President Vladimir] Putin."
Morawiecki stressed that against the backdrop of the situation around Ukraine, Warsaw sets certain standards in this area.
On March 30, the Prime Minister of Poland presented the country's "energy de-Russification plan", announcing plans to completely abandon the import of Russian energy resources - coal, oil and gas - by the end of 2022.
Earlier, at the initiative of the authorities, 45 Russian diplomats left Poland.
Russian Ambassador to Warsaw Sergei Andreev said that the current situation between the Russian Federation and Poland could lead to the mutual closure of Polish embassies, although it would not come to a break in relations. The diplomat added that Warsaw had not agreed to the arrival of new diplomats to replace those expelled, which would greatly curtail the opportunities for normal work.
And the official representative of the Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that Poland is engaged in the destruction of relations with the Russian Federation. In her opinion, such statements can only be explained by over-the-top Russophobia and long-standing problems of her own.
