"Nothing Special": the Kremlin Commented on the "Pandora's Dossier"
OREANDA-NEWS. Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov commented on the investigation by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists about the offshores of world politicians and celebrities. The publication, titled Pandora's Dossier, was prepared by journalists from 117 countries.
“You know, we did not see the hidden wealth of Putin's entourage. We didn’t see anything special, ”said Peskov.
The Kremlin spokesman noted that he is well acquainted with the work of the consortium, "where they get information from and how they get it." He noted that it is striking in the publication that the "main tax lagoon" is the United States.
When asked by journalists about whether his publication surprised him, Peskov noted that it is not yet clear whether this information can be trusted.
“It is not yet clear how this information can be trusted ... while we are talking about approval, there is no reason for checks. There should be a serious publication, after all ... there is a set of unfounded statements, ”said the presidential press secretary.
The Pandora Dossier was released on October 3rd. The investigation concerns the secret assets of world leaders and celebrities. It is known that it took a year, and more than 600 journalists were engaged in it. The article, in particular, features Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev and Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain.
