OREANDA-NEWS Microsoft Corporation will remove the Paint 3D program from current Windows OS builds. This was noticed by the TechSpot publication.

According to media journalists, OS users noticed a banner that began to appear when the graphics editor was launched. With his help, Microsoft announced that they would stop supporting Paint 3D and remove the program from the Microsoft Store on November 4, 2024.

The article says that Paint 3D turned out to be one of the applications that came out during the Windows 10 era. The authors of TechSpot noted that with the spread of Windows 11, Microsoft is gradually decommissioning outdated programs. These also include the Cortana voice assistant app, and the built-in email client.

Paint 3D appeared in 2017 as an advanced version of the Paint graphics editor. The utility allowed editing three-dimensional images, translating 2D documents into 3D, and supported working with layers. The app was also supposed to work with the HoloLens augmented reality headset. "All these grandiose visions have never been fully realized," the media journalists summed up, noting that Microsoft continues to support the regular version of Paint.

At the end of May, Microsoft announced the appearance of new artificial intelligence (AI) functions in Windows 11. The neural network assistant Copilot, "Live subtitles", and the Recall option will be added to the OS.
