OREANDA-NEWS. Representatives of the German television and radio company Deutsche Welle admitted the incorrectness of their actions during unauthorized mass actions in Moscow in the summer. This was announced on Wednesday by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, speaking at the conference "Freedom of the Media and the Safety of Journalists in Russia and the OSCE Area: Challenges and Opportunities in the Digital Age".

“We invited representatives of Deutsche Welle, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Maria Vladimirovna Zakharova, spoke with them. They admitted that in general this was not very correct in the context of the events that took place in Moscow at that time. It’s one thing to cover them, but It’s another matter to prepare them. In fact, they participated in the preparation of these protest, unauthorized actions, prompting people and even inviting people to them somewhere", Lavrov said. “This is probably not a function of the media”, he added.

The minister also said that Russia does not consider it necessary and possible to introduce any restrictions on Western media, including Deutsche Welle.
