OREANDA-NEWS. Military expert, director of the Museum of Air Defense Forces Yuri Knutov, in an interview with Ukraina.ru, spoke about Russia's response to the possible entry of Sweden and Finland into NATO.
“The answer will be serious. This is a no-access zone, these are the Iskander-M systems, these are the S-400 systems, this is the Bastion coastal missile system with Onyx missiles. Our missiles will be aimed at important military installations in Sweden and Finland. The Swedish army is quite modern. There are a large number of factories that can produce the most modern weapons. Stockholm even sells it for export,” he said.
The historian noted that the forces of the alliance, which will be deployed in these countries, may move towards St. Petersburg.
“We will respond thoughtfully and seriously. We will have to bring in significant forces to contain the enemy in this direction. Finns and Swedes say they are not going to change anything about us. But they participate in all sanctions and their troops become NATO troops. True, Turkey is still resisting, but I am convinced that in the near future they will become NATO countries. This is a serious threat to us. But for the Finnish and Swedish people, the threat will be even greater, ”Knutov summed up.
Earlier, the Public News Service wrote that political scientist Rostislav Ishchenko explained why the West "frozen" military assistance to Ukraine.
