Johnson & Johnson Plant Mistakenly Spoiled 15 Million Doses of Vaccine
OREANDA-NEWS. Employees of the American Johnson & Johnson plant in Baltimore, Maryland made a mistake a few weeks ago when mixing the ingredients of the COVID-19 vaccine, which resulted in the loss of 15 million doses of the drug. As reported by the TV channel "Russia 24", this was reported by The New York Times.
According to the newspaper, Johnson & Johnson admitted the negligence of its employees and assured the public that the defective batch of vaccine was not transferred for filling into ampoules.
The day before, it was reported that a resident of the American state of Virginia, after being vaccinated against the coronavirus with Johnson & Johnson, was in intensive care after he became covered with a rash, and his skin began to peel off. At the same time, the patient's legs and arms were severely swollen.
According to the local TV channel 8News WRIC, the victim told about it. Everything happened pretty quickly, he said. Local doctors confirmed the information, saying that four days after the introduction of the first component of the drug, the patient developed a severe reaction to the vaccine. All his skin turned red and began to peel off, and his legs and arms were severely swollen. As a result, the American ended up in the emergency department, from where he was discharged after a while.
He noted that he is grateful to be vaccinated against COVID-19, despite the fact that he feels very weak, and full recovery will take some time.
Meanwhile, the pharmaceutical companies Pfizer (USA) and BioNTech (Germany), after six months of studies, have reduced the assessment of the effectiveness of their vaccine by 4%. Now it is 91%.
