OREANDA-NEWS  Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Igor Krasnov announced the creation of special software in Russia to curb the growing number of crimes involving cryptocurrencies and other virtual assets.

"No less worrying is the increase in the number of crimes related to the criminal turnover of cryptocurrencies and other virtual assets. Special software has been developed in our country to prevent them," Krasnov said on Wednesday, speaking at the sixth meeting of the heads of the BRICS prosecutor's services.

According to him, the software is used both for financial monitoring and for the investigation of criminal cases, "which makes it possible to successfully disclose the entire scheme of operations and the chain of users involved in the process."

"This also concerns the problem of cross-border movement of assets," the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation added.
