OREANDA-NEWS In Moldova, the issue of banning the .RU domain in the republic was raised. Such a proposal was made by the chairman of the Action and Solidarity Party (PDS) Igor Grossu on the air of the Moldova-1 radio station, RIA Novosti quotes him.
The author of the initiative believes that every institution in the country that has its own database should "protect each of its employees from using corporate mail, not to use, in particular, mail with the extension RU." "Dear citizens, especially those who work in public institutions, email addresses with the extension RU are not serious," he stressed.
Grosu also expressed the opinion that there is no economic entity in Russia, IT, which would not be subordinate to the Russian special services.
On December 16, it became known that the licenses of a number of opposition and leading Russian-language TV channels, such as First in Moldova, RTR-Moldova, Akchent TV, as well as NTV-Moldova, TV-6 and Orhei TV, were suspended in the republic. This gesture was explained by the fact that these TV channels unfairly cover information about events in the country and in Ukraine.
Former Moldovan President Igor Dodon reacted to this decision by criticizing the country's authorities, while the Ambassador of the European Union (EU) to Moldova, Janis Majeix, called on the authorities of the republic to explain to the population the ban of six opposition TV channels.
