French Criticized Biden for Saying "America is Back"
OREANDA-NEWS. The intention of US President Joe Biden to show that "America is back" drew a flurry of criticism from readers of the French newspaper Le Figaro.
The head of the White House said this in front of the military at an American base in Britain ahead of his first overseas tour. According to him, he is going to let Russian leader Vladimir Putin understand this.
French users believe America is back "to intervene in things that don't concern them."
One of them wrote: "Biden has arrived on a visit to his European colonies."
One reader noted that such a statement by Biden "is not very encouraging." In his opinion, the American president said this "to unleash wars around the world."
One of the commentators admitted that the words of the US President can only signal "a declaration of war on Russia." In his opinion, the war has thus also been declared "also to China, Iran, Venezuela, Cuba ...".
Some readers only laughed at the statement of the head of the White House. "Great! America is back with a new burger!" - joked one of the readers.
The summit of Putin and Biden will take place on June 16 in Geneva. According to the press secretary of the head of Russia Dmitry Peskov, the presidents will discuss Russian-American relations, strategic stability, as well as the fight against COVID-19 and the settlement of regional conflicts.
