Forbes: Ukrainian Oligarchs Lost Billions of Dollars

OREANDA-NEWS. Ukrainian oligarchs and big businessmen have lost billions of dollars since the beginning of the special military operation, RIA Novosti reports with reference to Forbes.ua.
“American Forbes has updated the global list of world billionaires. The war significantly reduced the wealth of the richest Ukrainians. Rinat Akhmetov retained first place in the ranking of the richest Ukrainians with an estimated fortune of $4.2 billion. Half of this amount is an estimate of a 75 percent stake in Metinvest, taking into account the accumulated profit for 2021. However, when compared with February 2022, the difference is colossal: Akhmetov has lost $9.5 billion since the start of the war.
At the same time, ex-president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko lost the status of a dollar billionaire, and the founder of the Yalta European Strategy (YES), Viktor Pinchuk, lost a significant part of his fortune - $ 900 million.
Earlier, Australia announced sanctions against 33 Russian businessmen.
The website of the Australian agency says that the sanctions will affect "33 Russian oligarchs, prominent businessmen and their immediate family members."
Sanctions are imposed on businessman Roman Abramovich, Chairman of the Board of Rostec Sergey Chemezov, Chairman of PJSC Transneft Nikolai Tokarev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Rossiya Bank Dmitry Lebedev, Chairman of the Board of PJSC Gazprom Alexey Miller, Chairman of VEB. Russian Federation Igor Shuvalov, Director General of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) Kirill Dmitriev and a number of other persons.
